Karabi Social Support Project is funded through Department of Health and provides a range of services that assist and support frail, older people and people with disabilities to continue living at home and accessing their community as independently as possible, thereby preventing inappropriate or premature placement into residential care. The program also provides services to support carers in their caring roles.
There are two Karabi Social Support Projects. One is located at Wentworthville centre and serves the Parramatta LGA and the other runs from Seven Hills centre services the Blacktown LGA.

Karabi Social Support offers the services of a Volunteer—Social Support Visitor once a Fortnight/week for approx 3 hours.

There are many ways we can assist. Some of the services staff/volunteers provide are:

  • Assistance with shopping & errands for approx 3 hours
  • Emotional and social support for clients in their own home. If you would like some company and would appreciate a regular visit from a Social Support Volunteer.
  • Transportation to medical and other appointments.
  • Help with banking, reading papers, writing letters, making appointments or paying bills.
