Karabi Youth & Family Support Services provide assistance to young people (12-17yrs) and their families who reside or study within the Blacktown & Parramatta Local Government Areas. Our Youth & Family services comprise of four (4) support streams including Strength Based Case Management, Information, Advice and Referral, Skill Based Development Programs and Community based events. These streams are funded under the Early Intervention and Placement Prevention Program (EIPP) by the NSW Department of Family and Community Services and aim to create greater access, opportunities and outcomes for our young people, families and community.
Karabi’s Youth & Family Support workers provide these services in collaboration with other community service providers, high schools, local government/ council’s, and community. Karabi has a long standing history within the communities we service, and it is our passion and commitment to ensuring our youth are engaged, supported, valued, active and connected members of their communities.
We further believe that it is our fundamental responsibility to ensure we work & advocate for the rights of young people, through implementing programs and services that promote cultural connection, belonging and identity. Such programs include the ‘Identity Project’ which aims to support and mentor young people from diverse cultural backgrounds including; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, Afghan and Arabic youth.
